DIRECTIONS - The Cedar Creek Trail is located a few miles west of the little town of Mazama on the east side of Washington Pass. Drive west of Mazama on Highway 20 and follow the signed road for a few miles to its end at the trailhead. The waterfall is found 2 miles up the trail. You have to do a little scrambling around to get views of the main tiers.

Cedar Falls is a stunningly beautiful waterfall located in an equally pretty pine forest near Winthrop. The waterfall consists of two main tiers (plus some cascades above). The first tier drops 40' and, depending on the amount of water in the creek, drops over a single plunge or two segments. The creek then gathers itself and plunges over a super pretty and powerful 55' plunge. The waterfall and the trail are surrounded by the gorgeous forest and a plethora of wildflowers can be found in the spring and early summer. The volume of the creek tends to diminish as the summer goes on, but this is a great waterfall any time of year. The hike is easy enough that most people should have no problem with it. The rocks on the top of the falls are a great spot for a picnic lunch if you don't mind battling some ants for your Foot Long Turkey and Bacon from Subway.
