DIRECTIONS - Begin hiking out the Taylor River Trail. In about half a mile, take a right onto the Quartz Creek Trail. The trail climbs steadily along an old road bed for about two miles to the creek where a bridge used to cross. The bridge is now gone, but you can see the lower tier of the falls from here. Getting views of the upper tiers requires some pretty steep climbing.

The creek that contains Quartz Valley Falls is essentially a long series of waterfalls dropping hundreds of feet into Quartz Creek. The upper falls consists of a 102' tall upper tier which is really difficult to get pictures of, a kind of ugly middle tier, and the 39' drop on the left. This drop can actually be seen from the old roadbed, but it was all but impossible to get a clear view with the creek running as highly as it was on our visit. I had pictures of the two upper drops on my cell phone, but apparently, I deleted them before I put them on my computer so . . . oops. Next time.
