Portrait Falls occurs along two streams that flow off the Deming Glacier and down Portrait Rock. The left segment of the falls occurs on a small stream that drops about 400' in three tiers. The right, and main, section of the falls is a much larger volume drop, horsetailing for about 100' from a lobe of the Deming Glacier onto another arm of the glacier. Closer views are possible by following the Railroad Grade up to High Camp. From the lookout, the falls is mostly a nice accent to the amazing view of Mt. Baker.
Left - The smaller volume, but taller, section of Portrait Falls
Right - The larger volume, right-hand segment
