I had known about the existence of this waterfall for at least a decade before I finally bagged it. When I finally got there, the waterfall looked nothing like I expected . . . in a very, VERY good way. The falls begin with 30' worth of pretty cascades before reaching the main feature, a gorgeous, 82' tall, 40' wide stairstep waterfall. The creek interacts with the bedrock in a myriad of steps. Large boulders and decaying logs line the scene, but in this case it actually adds to the rugged nature of the area. After a few more cascades, the creek has one final hurray as it drops a final 25' in several segments.

While very difficult to get to, this one was a tremendous surprise to me and I was stunned by its beauty. Not too far upstream from the falls, the creek flows out of what looks like a gorgeous valley with a large, plunging waterfall on the east side. I was worried about running out of daylight on my trip, so I missed heading up into that valley, but I will do so if I return to the area.
