DIRECTIONS - From the town of Twisp, head west on Twist River Road into the mountains. Turn left onto FR-4430 (I believe it's signed for Eagle Creek and War Creek Trails). Just after crossing the river, turn left onto the NF-100 spur road pointing you towards War Creek Trail. Just before the trailhead, the road makes a sharp U-turn back to the right. Park at the corner and find a little bootpath leading down the hill. The falls come into view in a few feet. Be careful as the hillside is really loose and steep and it's easy to slip.

War Creek Falls is the perfect examples of an East Side waterfall. It's not nearly as tall as many of the west side waterfalls, but it's beautiful, and surrounded by a stunning pine forest. The large volume creek plunges 32' into a nice pool of water. The view from the canyon rim is pretty nice, especially early in the year when the wildflowers are in full bloom. It's also possible to get to the base of the falls, but I actually liked the upper viewpoint better. This is a pretty easy waterfall to get a view of, so if you happen to be in the area, don't miss the short side trip to see it.
