Olney Creek is a large volume creek that drains a substantially area between Spada Lake and Highway 2 near the town of Sultan. The creek is known for two nice waterfalls on its lower reaches. Olney Valley Falls, along with several others in the area, are located at the upper reaches of the creek. Olney Valley Falls consists of two main drops with several smaller ones in between. The upper tier is a beautiful and powerful 41' tall plunge into a pool at the bottom of a tightly-walled canyon. A large logjam creates a back up of rocks and gravels as well as the pool itself. The creek then drops over successive 10' tall logjam based drops and a 12' tall legitimate bedrock based plunge. The falls finishes with a 25' tall lower tier before running out of the narrow gorge. It's difficult to see more than one section at a time, but the individual drops are really pretty.
