Every creek that drains off the west side of Mt. Si, known as the "Moon Wall", has a waterfall or two. Hancock Creek is no exception. From the lake to its convergence with the North Fork, Hancock Creek contains four major waterfalls, as well as several other minor ones. The uppermost falls is the only one that isn't worth the trouble of viewing. Upper Hancock Creek Falls is a series of small drops measuring 8', 14', 10', and 18' in height. The drops occur in a very steep, messy section of canyon that makes getting a clear view very difficult. I suspect if the creek were running lower, it would be possible to wade out into the creek for better views. A hydro-electric project is in the process of being built on the creek so it will be interesting to see how much water they let run.
