Quartz Valley Falls is the grand finale (and oh how grand it is!) in a long series of small drops as this unnamed creek encounters Quartz Creek. This final drop involves a sliding 73' tall horsetail that then spreads out and drops 69' in a beautiful, 50' wide fan shaped drop. Thick woods and steep cliffs surround the falls which are remarkably pretty. The only downside is the large number of dead trees and logs that have found their way to the base of the falls. When we visited, the creek was running at about as high as it will ever run and it made photography very, VERY difficult.
