DIRECTIONS - Follow the directions to McCarty Falls. Continue walking along the old road for another 1/2 a mile until you reach Bear Creek. The lower tier is easily viewed from the road. To see the upper tier, cross the creek and scramble up above the lower tier (this will be dangerous at high volume). To get my picture I had to cross the creek again above the lower tier.

The middle falls on Bear Creek is the only one that is remotely easy to view. The falls begin with a very pretty upper tier that drops 15' in a plunging drop. This drop is joined by a tributary stream horsetailing 30' in several braids of water during the wet season that makes for a really cool scene. The creek than cascades for about 5 vertical feet before launching itself another 12' into the ditch in the middle of the old road. There is a chance this tier didn't even exist before they tore the culvert out of the road but it's there now. I wouldn't recommend wandering up the road just for this waterfall, but if you are going to attempt the lower and/or upper falls, you can't miss this one.
