DIRECTIONS - Take the Baker Lake Road to FR 12 signed for Schriebers Meadows and the South Fork Nooksack. Follow this road for around 6 miles and take the left where the road forks. In another few miles take the right road through a seasonal gate (the left goes up to the Blue Lake Trailhead). Continue along the road for another few miles and then turn left onto FR 1260 and follow it to its end in around a mile. Park and walk across the bridge over the South Fork. Hearty Creek is about 1/5 of a mile north of the bridge. Make your way upstream however you can. A rough path leads most of the way to the creek once you reach the campsite on the gravel bar. When you reach the creek you will see the falls. Climb upstream next to the lower tier to get closer views of the top.

Hearty Creek begins its life in Heart Lake and proceeds to drop over eleven waterfalls on its way to the South Fork, culminating in Bridal Veil Falls. As one progresses downstream, the names of the waterfalls follow the pattern from caring about someone as a person to falling more and more in love, eventually ending in marriage at Bridal Veil.

Bridal Veil Falls is a very commonly used name for waterfalls but it is very fitting in this case. The falls begin by sliding down a 30' horsetail before spilling out and fanning over another 50'. Below this the creek drops over another 10' segmented drop. The bottom tier drops about 10' into a gorgeous, deep pool of water. The area around the falls is beautiful with ferns and flowers everywhere you look. There are a ton of good photographic compositions of this falls too so I'll definitely be heading back with some better lighting in the future.

The road leading to Bridal Veil Falls is close every year until July 1st to protect elk habitat.
