Lower Hancock Creek Falls

Every creek that drains off the west side of Mt. Si, known as the "Moon Wall", has a waterfall or two. Hancock Creek is no exception. From the lake to its convergence with the North Fork, Hancock Creek contains four major waterfalls, as well as several other minor ones. The lower falls on Hancock Creek is a great finale to the precipitous run from the lake. The falls slide and then plunge 33' in total, finishing in a nice pool of water. This waterfall is located a very short distance above the road, and an obscure path leads to the falls (I'm not 100% sure if it's animal or man-made). While not nearly as large as the others on the creek, this is a very pretty spot and much more accessible than the others. The creek was raging when I visited, but I suspect at a lower volume, this is a super photographic waterfall. A hydro-electric project is in the process of being built on the creek so it will be interesting to see how much water they let run.
