DIRECTIONS - Drive east along Highway 20 to Concrete. Just before leaving town, turn left towards Lake Shannon. In around 4 miles you will reach the signed road heading down to the boat launch. The main road continues straight ahead but is gated. Park here and walk up the road. In a few hundred feet, head onto the spur road to the right. Follow it for about 1/4 of a mile to the creek. You'll see a small cascade on the right and the main falls is down the hill on the left. You'll have to do some steep scrambling to get a view.
Pekwen Falls takes place on a small stream near Lake Shannon. The upper tier of the falls splits into three channels and plunges, cascades, and horsetails down a tree lined cliff. Just downstream is a lower tier that we haven't gotten a good view of yet. This drop appears to be much better and we will visit it in the future. There is actually a small, cascading waterfall located upstream from the spur road as well but we judged it too minor to include on the website.
