Someone told me there was a 50' tall waterfall on the upper stretches of Racehorse Creek. Either I got the directions wrong or his estimate was just a tad off. While not 50' tall, this waterfall is a beauty, dropping over two tiers of 15' and 5' in height. The pool at the bottom of the bigger tier is a perfect swimming hole. So much so that on a perfect summer day I decided to jump off the falls into the pool. I have to imagine the falls are much more punchbowl-like when the creek is running high. A short distance downstream was a really cool stretch of creek where it ran over a 300' long stretch of bedrock at an angle of about 5 degrees. While this trip is tough, it can easily be combined with Triple Crown Falls for a little 2-for-1 deal.
