DIRECTIONS - Hike up to Park Butte Lookout and stare at Mt. Baker. If you can take your eyes off the glacier-capped volcano, you might spot this waterfall in the meadows below.
This waterfall occurs on a branch of Ridley Creek in the area of Baker known as Mazama Park. The creek cascades for about 25' before spreading out and plunging 65' in height. The first time I saw this waterfall it had a lot more water than in this picture. The falls will be at their peak flow in mid-summer when the snow melting off Baker is highest. From the lookout the falls are difficult to see and hardly worth taking a picture of. From up close, it looks like this will be a very pretty waterfall when it is flowing heavily. I will attempt to revisit earlier in the summer next time.
